0080で登場したザクIIの後期型。ザクといえば世代の異なるガンダムにはかなわないモビルスーツの印象だが、
ザクII改はさまざまな改良により、ゲルググ並みの性能を持つという。
その証拠に、0080では相打ちになってしまったがガンダム”アレックス”とバーニーが乗るザクII改が互角に戦っている。
ガンダム側のパイロットの成熟度の問題はあったかもしれないが、初期のシャアとアムロの関係をみる限り、ザクII改の性能アップが著しいという事だろう。

As a proof of that, Gundam “Alex” and Zaku II FZ, on which Bernie rides, are fighting evenly, although it was a trade-off at 0080.
There may have been a problem with the maturity of the pilot on the Gundam side, but looking at the relationship between Char and Amuro in the early days, it seems that the performance improvement of the ZakuII FZ is remarkable.
