0083 STARDUST MEMORYの冒頭から登場し、終盤まで何かと話題になったガンダム。
対ジオン戦争を教訓にして、ジオンの残党狩りやほかの連邦を脅かす反政府組織に対抗するためにほかの試作機とともに作られた。
１号機が普通のガンダム、３号機は宇宙専用のでっかいパック形式のものであったのに対し、２号機は核兵器を使用できるという特徴を持つ。
南極条約で使用禁止となった核兵器でありながら、連邦軍は秘密裏にこれを使うモビルスーツを開発していた。
アルビオンが地球に持ってきた２号機をソロモンの悪夢、ガトーに奪われ、そこからアルビオンの追撃戦が始まる。それは宇宙にも続き、ついに核兵器はソロモンで使われる。
小さなガムがついたガンプラ。今になって考えると、ガムっているのかな。
