ファーストガンダムでホワイトベースのクルーが奮戦していた頃、アジア地区では侵攻したジオン軍の基地に対して陸戦型ガンダムで戦いを挑む部隊があった。
第08MS小隊。しかし敵ジオンにはアプサラスIIというモビルアーマーがおり、容易には攻略できない。アプサラスIIを倒すため砂漠に埋もれて時を待つガンダムがこの陸戦型ガンダム(砂漠仕様)だ。

08th MS Squadron. However, the enemy Zeon has a mobile armor called Apsalus II, which cannot be easily destroyed. This land battle type Gundam (desert specification) is a Gundam that is buried in the desert and waits for time to defeat Apsalus II.
